Tacos

Tonight is taco night here at our place!

We always had taco nights at my house when I was growing up, but it was a new phenomenon for John when we started living together. I love taco night; there is something just so satisfying and delicious about the combination of flavours and textures... yummy, yummy, yummy.

Here are the components that we use to make up our taco meal:

Ground beef, spiced with taco seasoning, occasionally with sauteed onions
Grated marble cheese
Shredded lettuce
Salsa and/or fresh diced tomatoes
Corn
Sour Cream
Refried beans (sometimes)

So not the most exciting list in the world, but all of the basics are there. I would like to have a party some day where we provide the shells and everybody brings their favourite taco topping.  Wouldn't that be fun? 

Oh! And the tacos themselves are always hard tacos.  John likes soft tacos so we have bought them on occasion but for me, it's not tacos without the crunch!

  1. what you have to have for your tacos, is "AY AY AY" as served in a little pre-columbian looking black clay pot, at Senor Frosty's at the gates to Tulum, in Yucatan.
    I shall try to duplicate it, but don't hold your breath.
    together with the locally-bottled Corona, it produces a delightful numbness of the face.
